Good Day
Yesterday I eventually made it off the couch. I was glad I did. I did a 60 minute workout at the gym, washed the dishes, and cleaned out the kitty litter! Go me!
Today was nice.
My husband didn't have to work, so we slept in together. Then I went with him to an eye exam, and then I got a haircut by a really cool guy. It was one of the least awkward haircuts I've ever had. It's much shorter and he showed me a new technique to style my wavy hair.
We had lunch at Panera and then a cookie from Christie Cookies, my favorite!! We needed new cell phones, so we stopped into Verizon. We got a family plan and two free phones. I can finally text and hopefully I will get laughed at less because I won't have to pull out my huge old phone anymore.
We were invited out to dinner by two newer friends. My husband and I shared a delicious rice and bean salad. I'm getting more social I guess... there was about 5 couples there altogether. I feel like we've just been absorbed into a great circle of friends. After dinner, we went to Target. I bought a shirt and leggings.
It's very unusual for us to spend money like this. I think it's because we were so busy all school year that we didn't really take care of ourselves. It's sort of fun to be big spenders for a change! Although, I feel guilty about eating out. Sorry stomach!!
Tomorrow is looking to be another social day, and fortunately I don't see any costs... Although I reaaally want to buy Microsoft Office for my computer, which is a Mac.

To Do and Done Lists
So it's almost lunch time. I'm in my pj's. I've been laying around the house since about 3 pm yesterday. My head hurts. My stomach is bothering me. I have zero motivation to get up. However, I have a long list of things I need to do/could do. I would like to go to the Y, because I know it will make me feel so much better. I would like to clean up the house - dishes, kitty litter, clean the tub and sink, and so forth, because there's a chance some friends will be stopping by this evening. I need to work on my grad school application and FAFSA. I could read, paint, shop, volunteer... but instead I continue to stare at the walls.
Perhaps if I think about my accomplishments of the past week...
1. Spent two days with new friends volunteering at a co-op - I painted walls and trim and scrubbed floors.
2. Spent Memorial Day evening grilling out and making s'mores at a friend's party
3. Had two really good workouts at the Y - 60 minutes on the elliptical machine
4. Packed up my classroom for summer and turned in the keys
5. Helped a co-worker move her things from her old classroom to her new one
6. Went to the dentist
7. Went to the psychiatrist
8. Went to the health clinic
9. Got prescriptions filled
10. Began this new blog
11. Began a new book: Harvesting the Heart by Jodi Piccoult
12. Made a hair appointment for tomorrow
13. Folded and put away laundry
14. Swept the house
15. Celebrated my 24th birthday with a few separate meals with different people
Lists are one of my favorite things. I give two thumbs up to lists of things already accomplished... they're way less exhausting!
